Even with this morning’s chill, I noticed a new soundtrack playing around the neighborhood. Instead of just crows and other winter birds, there’s been a lot of chatter out there from the new birds in town. The spring birds. Their songs are a lot more cheerful, and they seem busier than the birds of winter. Even with winter’s dreary return, this remix gives me confidence that the real spring is right around the corner!
Spring has given us a few false starts around here. Last week we had a couple of days in the 70’s. The weekend was cold and windy. The cherry and pear trees had an early bloom. I’m not gardening savvy enough to know how below-freezing temperatures will affect them, but they certainly must. They’ve certainly not been kind to my daffodils, which gave a short performance only to turn wilted and brown around the edges.

I love your title and line: 'I noticed a new soundtrack playing.' It was fun to find out it was about birds! Nice work - thanks.

I've heard a few choruses in the mornings too.
