Are website passwords getting more complicated or am I just getting old? I seem to be submitting password reset requests daily. I hate websites that require some caps and random symbols in the password. It defies the password formula I’ve been using for years, which has resulted in(knock on wood) no security breaches or identity theft. I’m always amazed at the innocuous websites requiring all this encryption - sites that don’t seem to take credit card payments or Social Security numbers.
And while I’m ranting, more and more websites seem to be requiring registration to use their site. It makes me long for good old-fashioned bricks and mortar stores where you can walk in and out anonymously without anyone tracking your purchases. But, no more. Frequently, bricks and mortar stores require customer registration or loyalty programs in order for the customer to get the best price for their products. So now CVS knows my tampon brand of choice and Giant has a pretty good idea how often I am purchasing bacon. There really is no such thing as privacy anymore.
