I come from a large family, and though my parents have passed on, I have a lot of siblings and in-laws and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews to keep tabs on. Not being able to see them in person this year has made it harder to catch up. There’s the husband tab. Poor man. He is always running in the background and gets very few clicks. And my grown but not quite grown daughter who can be out of sight for days at a time can suddenly blink to the front of the queue.
I am blessed with a lot of great friends. But because of all those tabs, and the fact that I don’t really like to talk on the phone, I could really do a better job in the that department. I tend to forget birthdays and anniversaries and I worry that they’ll all get tired of my neglect and close out.
Perhaps it’s just pandemic related stress that has me feeling this way. My best course of action will be a nice long walk before the next set of tabs opens – what to have for dinner, laundry, bills. Tabs, tabs, tabs.
